CASE STUDY 1: ANNA’S STORY
EMOTIONAL OVERLOAD AND STRESS
Background & Challenges:

Anna moved abroad to the UK to study Business Management. Adapting to the changes in culture and lifestyle was difficult alongside the challenges of studying for her degree. Everyday life was filled with constant changes and Anna felt exhausted and overwhelmed. She questioned whether moving abroad was the right decision, and was filled with fear, uncertainty and frustration. The ways she used to handle stress no longer worked due
to the different conditions and faster pace of life. Language barriers held her back — she could not express herself and was unsure how to calm down in stressful situations. She shifted into survival mode, pushed emotions aside, felt disconnected, lost motivation, and focused purely on being able to function rather than enjoying and experiencing life.

How I helped Anna:
I worked with Anna, helping her to feel comfortable in her own skin in her new environment. I supported her
in learning to manage her frustrations, reduced her stress levels and navigated the emotional challenges of life living abroad, helping her feel more connected to her new life.

I supported her to clearly communicate her needs and express herself without the shame of not knowing
the language well enough. I helped her to feel like she belonged within this new culture, that she had made
the right choice and was in the right place, embracing her studies and her new life, whatever it might bring.

CASE STUDY 2: ELENA’S STORY
UNCONSCIOUS PROGRAMS & INTERNAL BLOCKAGES
Background & Challenges:

Elena moved to the UK to start a new job in engineering. She left home, seeking relief and a fresh start,
but the baggage of her difficult experiences came with her. Old unresolved feelings resurfaced, even though she thought she had left them behind when she moved to a new country. After a comment from her manager, the familiar feeling of being inadequate returned, just like when she had disappointed her mum and dad in her younger years. She thought she had worked through certain internal blocks, but discovered that this wasn’t
the case. She still compared herself to others, triggering feelings of being inferior and invisible. Elena thought she had already dealt with these feelings, but old patterns resurfaced despite all her previous efforts
in addressing these problems, and she found herself once again living from one survival mode to another.
How I helped:
I helped Elena to identify and break through unconscious patterns that blocked her growth, eliminating
the feeling of regression and "being a little girl" in difficult situations. I enabled her to take on new projects, knowing who she was and acknowledging her successes, even if her manager or someone else questioned them.
Together, we recognised and transformed recurring thoughts and behaviours, such as "I'm not good enough," "I'm inferior," and "I'm different." I helped her to stop comparing herself to others, reclaim her power,
and revitalise her energy and courage to move forward in her career and in her new life.

CASE STUDY 3: MARIA’S STORY
CRISIS OF IDENTITY & SELF-CONFIDENCE
Background & Challenges:

Maria made the decision to move permanently to the UK. She was used to being independent, achieving successes one after the other in her home country. But now she had no choice but to rely on others
for handling the formalities in a new place. She tried to communicate with people with respect, but was told that she was too direct, and she felt misunderstood and embarrassed.
She felt ashamed trying to express herself in a foreign language, noticing reactions from people who didn’t understand what she was trying to convey. Not knowing the language well enough, she felt like a helpless child. So, Maria asked for help in her own language, but it was difficult and she worried that people wouldn’t understand her. More and more, she found herself operating with a masculine energy, over-analysing
and strategising with purely logical thinking, and she longed to settle back into her feminine energy and her sense of self.
How I helped:
I supported Maria in being able to handle formalities without fear, and in starting each day without the constant frustrations. I helped her to communicate with ease and comfort, without fear that not knowing the culture would cause her embarrassment or that she would be misunderstood.
I worked with her to feel comfortable in her own skin, building relationships and respect in her new environment, helping her to confidently communicate without the shame of not knowing the language well enough. I enabled her to regain her sense of self, live her life the way she wanted to live, and embrace
her feminine energy.

CASE STUDY 4: JULIA’S STORY
DISORIENTATION & CHANGE OF DIRECTION
Background & Challenges:

Julia moved to the UK for a temporary job in childcare. She had planned to apply for her dream job, but she started questioning her skills and education, which she found were being undervalued after moving abroad. After the move, her previous plans began to lose their meaning and she felt she had lost her sense of direction.
She once felt confident, but her daily encounters with a new culture shook her stability, and she no longer knew how to behave or what to say. She experienced new problems that she hadn’t encountered when living in
the safety of her home environment, and she was shocked by the need to rebuild everything from scratch — her group of friends, position at work, finances, and housing. Julia felt overwhelmed by the fact that everything was different, and adjusting to her new life slowed her down and blocked her progress to move forward.
How I helped:
I worked with Julia to cope effectively with feelings of overwhelm and disorientation, enabling her to take action and regain her sense of direction. I helped her rebuild her confidence and quiet her inner critic, see her own strengths and skills, so that applying for her dream job no longer felt unachievable.
I helped her take on new projects and form new friendships with a sense of stability, building inner support
and a sense of safety that helped her feel secure and confident, even when others undermined her value.
I reinforced her sense of self and helped her move forward with her life despite the cultural differences.

CASE STUDY 5: NINA’S STORY
RELATIONSHIPS & SOCIAL LIFE
Background & Challenges:

Nina had lived in the UK for a couple of years and had started to regain a sense of stability in her new country. But suddenly the close friends she had made decided to leave, and she began to feel lonely again. She wanted to be able to meet a soulmate and a partner, but she felt that her way of being was too different from local norms and expectations.
She missed the sense of belonging, watching others talk naturally, plan meetings and social events, while
she felt on the outside as if she was always falling behind. Nina began to notice more cultural differences between herself and her acquaintances, and this triggered old childhood fears that she had thought were long gone. She longed to feel safe again, to feel comfortable and to hear that everything would be ok, but struggled without her friends and loved ones there beside her.
How I helped:
I helped Nina re-establish her sense of stability, make new connections without feeling like an outsider. Together, we recognized and transformed the feeling that she was too different, enabling her to form new friendships and meet a new partner with confidence.
I supported her with social interactions, reducing her fear that cultural differences might cause
her embarrassment. I addressed old childhood fears of not fitting in and enabled her to feel safe
and comfortable, build new relationships with ease, and embrace a sense of belonging.

CASE STUDY 6: KASIA’S STORY
LONELINESS, ISOLATION & LOSS OF CULTURAL BELONGING
Background & Challenges:

Kasia travelled to study Medicine in the UK, looking forward to the future. She thought that life would get easier after moving abroad, but she found herself facing entirely different challenges. She felt internally torn, part
of her still longed for life in her home country while part of her was excited about the opportunities ahead.
She couldn’t believe how much she had changed and that when she returned home she now felt like a stranger. Kasia had hoped that her achievements abroad would finally be recognised by her family, but once again she was met with silence and disappointment from them. All kinds of procedures and formalities in the UK
and in her studies reminded her that she was not from this country, reinforcing her feelings of isolation
and loneliness.
How I helped:
I supported Kasia to manage her emotions, making it easier to handle difficult challenges in a new cultural environment. I helped her to deal with the reactions of her family, transforming her thoughts that she was
not good enough to meet their expectations.
I helped to reduce her feelings of loneliness and isolation, enabling her to feel like she belonged and that she was in the right place, embracing the opportunities ahead and handling all the procedures and formalities
that came with studying abroad. I built her inner support and a sense of safety that helped her to feel secure
and confident, even when others didn’t recognise her achievements.

CASE STUDY 7: LENA’S STORY
PROFESSIONAL CONCERNS
Background & Challenges:

Lena moved to the UK in search of a new job. She thought she would find work quickly, but when this didn’t happen, she began to doubt her skills and feared that her professional dreams would never come true.
She faced the reality that she might not have the necessary skills or qualifications, and she couldn’t summon the courage to apply for the job she had initially desired.

She was overwhelmed with rebuilding her financial stability. Back at home, Lena had achieved financial comfort, but she became stressed by having to start completely from scratch. Moving to the UK was supposed to create a feeling of success and fulfilment for her, but instead of pride in her decision, all she felt was coldness, distance, and envy of those around her.
How I helped:
I worked with Lena to address her professional and financial concerns, enabling her to acknowledge her own strength and skills and to move forward in her career path. I gave her the confidence to apply for the job
she desired, and even to ask for a raise when the time came.

I helped her overcome self-sabotage patterns that held her back and told her she wasn’t good enough, enabling her to take on new challenges and feel pride and success in her achievements. She gained the clarity
and courage to take her professional life in the direction she chose and to feel a sense of fulfilment.

Weronika (Polish expat in the UK;
Business Owner, Graphic Designer)
When I started coaching, I was stuck in fear—of failure, judgment, and not being good enough. I struggled
with perfectionism, procrastination, and self-doubt, especially around my creative work. I wanted confidence and self-trust but didn’t know how to get there.
What made this coaching so powerful was how it spoke directly to the unique challenges of women living abroad. I hadn’t realised how deeply this experience was affecting my sense of belonging and self-worth.
With my coach’s support, I began taking real steps forward—sharing my work, applying for jobs without waiting for everything to be “perfect,” and showing up more honestly. I landed a new job with a 20% salary increase, secured aligned freelance projects, and began creating from a place of authenticity, not fear.
Most importantly, I no longer feel I need to be someone else to succeed. I trust myself more, feel braver,
and finally live and work as who I truly am.
Alina (Romanian expat in the UK,
Holistic Practitioner)
When I started coaching, I was stuck in a job I disliked, overwhelmed by fear, self-doubt, and constant self-criticism. With Kath’s support, I began taking real steps forward—changing jobs, exploring new career paths, and enrolling in a professional qualification I had once thought was beyond my reach. Not only did I complete it faster than expected, but I also graduated top of my class. I moved into a role where I feel genuinely valued, received a 25% salary increase, and finally see a future aligned with my passions.
The coaching didn’t just change my external circumstances—it helped me shift my mindset, build self-trust, and let go of perfectionism and anxiety. I now feel calm, confident, and capable in ways I never thought possible. This experience has truly been
life-changing.
Paulina (Polish expat in the UK;
Business Owner, Facilities Services)
One of the most transformative parts of coaching was the realization that I am in control of my life—that
I hold the wheel. I became aware of deeply ingrained patterns, especially my tendency to over-plan, seek security in every possible scenario, and carry a quiet sense of loneliness that had been shaping my decisions for years.
Her approach created a safe and supportive space
for self-discovery. I deeply appreciated her openness
to explore topics like generational family trauma, which brought even more depth to our work and made me feel fully seen and understood.
Within just a few sessions, I made decisions I previously wouldn’t have allowed myself to consider—like enrolling in a training program and creating more balance in my personal life. I stopped holding back and started taking real steps forward. By the end of our time together, I had made two major life changes, developed greater emotional awareness, and began
to genuinely trust myself.
Since completing coaching, I’ve noticed that my external world has started to mirror my internal transformation. I feel more aligned, more connected, and more capable of creating the life I truly want.
Erin (Ireland; Senior Manager in Finance)
I began this journey with the goal of building my confidence and a tangible aim of securing a promotion at work. Not only did I achieve both, but the positive effects have rippled into so many other areas of my life.
Working on my confidence has led to a stronger sense of self-worth and the ability to look toward the future with optimism rather than fear. My relationships have improved significantly, as I now have greater clarity about why certain interactions happen the way they do, along with a deeper, more empathetic understanding that everyone faces their own barriers and challenges.
But perhaps the biggest achievement for me has been how much I’ve discovered about myself along the way. That personal growth is something I’ll carry with me
for life.
Daria (Polish expat in the UK; Holistic Practitioner)
Throughout the process, I spent time truly observing my feelings and thoughts. I was able to connect deeply with both my inner child and my adult self. From the beginning, I was clear about my goals, and this journey gave me the space to explore them fully. I came much closer to achieving them and, most importantly, realized that I am empowered to shape the direction
of my own life.
The coach I worked with was incredibly professional and highly skilled. I deeply appreciated the opportunity to work with her. She was empathetic, open, and always created a space where I felt heard and supported—especially when I was facing challenges
or trying to express something important.
